Fort Baker Zine

Established in 1866, Fort Baker was originally a coastal fortification safeguarding the San Francisco Bay and surrounding areas. Its journey from military outpost to national park celebrates both its unique past and natural beauty while updating it with modern functionality and purpose. With input from the community, private partners, and public partners, the National Park Service and Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy strive to create a space offering something more than just recreational space within the national park system.

This "zine" was created by one of the Institute's Fellows, Sophia Choi, and tells the story of Fort Baker in an engaging and visually compelling way. Enjoy the juxtaposition of historic and contemporary photos as you learn more about this unique park site.
